The Asahikawa Kitasaito Garden spreads out on the riverbed just behind Asahikawa Station, but you can enjoy a completely different nature just by driving about 5 minutes from Asahikawa Station.
Kaguraoka Park, located behind Kamikawa Shrine, was originally part of the Imperial Forest planned for the Kamikawa Detached Palace. In 1914, it was designated as parkland and gradually developed into the beautiful park we see today.
The park also features a Japanese garden and stone monuments, making it a place where you can really feel Japanese culture.
